KRCO-AM ANNOUNCES 2005-2006 WINTER SPORTS EVENT COVERAGE
(Prineville, OR) – KRCO-AM (690 khz) will carry 131 high school, college or professional basketball games during the winter sports season. A complete schedule is attached.
KRCO-AM News and Sports Director Paul Valle returns for his fifth year as the play-by-play voice of Crook County High School sports broadcasts. KRCO will carry 9 Crook County Boys and 9 Crook County Girls high school basketball games this season, and will provide Crook County High School wrestling reports at 7:50 am on Tuesdays throughout the season. KRCO-AM is also home of the Portland Trailblazers and Oregon State University sports in Central Oregon.
“KRCO is completing its 55th consecutive season broadcasting Crook County High School football, and we look forward to an exciting season of Crook County Boys and Girls basketball coverage in the season ahead,” said Keith Shipman, President & CEO of Horizon Broadcasting Group. “We carry over 150 sports events annually, with our focus on the Crook County Cowboys. We’re proud to be Central Oregon’s home for Oregon State University football and men’s basketball and the Portland Trailblazers of the NBA, as well.”
KRCO-AM is celebrating its 55th year of service to Prineville, Crook and Jefferson counties in 2005.
In addition to its Classic Country music format, KRCO-AM also features Paul Harvey News and Comment weekdays at 7:30 am and 12:05 pm and The Rest of the Story with Paul Harvey at 5:10 pm. KRCO’s “Trading Post” airs from 9 am to 10 am weekdays, and the station features Agricultural News and Information at 12 noon and 5 pm weekdays.
KRCO-AM’s sister station, LAZER 96-5 (KWLZ-FM, 96.5 mhz) broadcasts all Seattle Seahawks games this season.
Horizon Broadcasting Group, LLC owns and operates five radio stations. HBG’s stations in Central Oregon include KQAK-FM (105.7, Oldies), KWPK-FM (THE PEAK 104.1, Hot Adult Contemporary), KLTW-FM (LITE 95.1, Soft Adult Contemporary), KWLZ-FM (LAZER 96.5, Classic Rock) and KRCO-AM (690 khz, Classic Country).
