KQAK-FM NAMED RADIO STATION OF THE YEAR BY OREGON ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS
(Bend, OR) – KQAK-FM has been named 2006 Oregon Radio Station of the Year by the Oregon Association of Broadcasters. The announcement was made at the Fall Conference of the Oregon Association of Broadcasters on August 25, 2006.
“This is a tremendous honor for our team of 23 full-time and 6 part-time employees,” said Keith Shipman, President & CEO of Horizon Broadcasting Group. “We are humbled to have received the 2006 OAB Oregon Radio Station of the Year Award. KQAK’s air personalities – Jeff Nelson, Dan Dubay and Bruce Cannon – have developed a great connection with the Central Oregon communities we serve. We are very thankful to the many listeners we have and for the opportunity to help businesses throughout Central Oregon grow through effective marketing campaigns.”
105.7 KQAK-FM is Central Oregon’s heritage oldies station, playing the Greatest Hits of the 60’s and 70’s. Dan Dubay is the station’s Program Director. The station recently celebrated its 15th year of service to Central Oregon.
The 2006 OAB Oregon Radio Station of the Year award was judged by the Nebraska Broadcasters Association.
Horizon Broadcasting Group, LLC owns and operates five radio stations in Central Oregon. HBG’s stations in Central Oregon include KQAK-FM (105.7, Oldies), KWPK-FM (THE PEAK 104.1, Hot Adult Contemporary), KLTW-FM (LITE 95.1, Soft Adult Contemporary), KWLZ-FM (LAZER 96.5, Classic Rock) and KRCO-AM (690 khz, Classic Country).
