KRCO-AM ANNOUNCES FALL SPORTS EVENT COVERAGE
(Prineville, OR) – KRCO-AM (690 khz) begins its 55th consecutive season of broadcasting Crook County High School football games when the Cowboys kick off the 2005 campaign against Parkrose High School at Ward Rhoden Stadium in Prineville.
KRCO-AM News and Sports Director Paul Valle is back for his fifth season as the play-by-play voice of Crook County High School sports broadcasts. In addition to football, KRCO-AM will broadcast 9 Crook County Boys and 9 Crook County Girls high school basketball games this winter. A complete Fall schedule is attached.
“KRCO is a full service radio station in the truest sense,” said Keith Shipman, President & CEO of Horizon Broadcasting Group. “We will carry over 160 sports events in the next 9 months with our focus on the Crook County Cowboys. We’re proud to be Central Oregon’s home for Oregon State University football and men’s basketball and the Portland Trailblazers of the NBA, as well.”
KRCO-AM is celebrating its 55th year of service to Prineville, Crook and Jefferson counties in 2005.
In addition to its Classic Country format, KRCO-AM also features Paul Harvey News and Comment weekdays at 7:30 am and 12:05 pm and The Rest of the Story with Paul Harvey at 5:10 pm. KRCO’s Trading Post airs from 9 am to 10 am weekdays, and the station features Agricultural News and Information at 12 noon and 5 pm weekdays.
KRCO-AM’s sister station, LAZER 96-5 (KWLZ-FM, 96.5 mhz) will broadcast all Seattle Seahawks games this season.
Horizon Broadcasting Group, LLC owns and operates five radio stations. HBG’s stations in Central Oregon include KQAK-FM (105.7, Oldies), KWPK-FM (THE PEAK 104.1, Hot Adult Contemporary), KLTW-FM (LITE 95.1, Soft Adult Contemporary), KWLZ-FM (LAZER 96.5, Classic Rock) and KRCO-AM (690 khz, Classic Country).
