HORIZON BROADCASTING GROUP LAUNCHES PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROGRAM ON CENTRAL OREGON RADIO STATIONS
(Bend, OR) – Horizon Broadcasting Group is launching a weekly public affairs radio program that will focus on issues of interest to Central Oregon residents.
“Inside Central Oregon,” hosted by Horizon Broadcasting Group News Director Paul Valle, debuts Sunday, August 21, 2005 at 7:30 am and will air on KQAK-FM, The Peak 104.1, LITE 95.1, LAZER 96-5 and AM 690 KRCO Country.
“We are delighted to offer a weekly public affairs program on our radio stations to address the most pressing issues in the eyes of the citizens of Central Oregon,” said Keith Shipman, President & CEO of Horizon Broadcasting Group. “Our entire staff is dedicated to serving the local communities of Central Oregon, and “Inside Central Oregon” will provide a long form, in-depth opportunity to address issues that are important to our fast growing region.”
Inside Central Oregon’s first guest is Bend City Councilman Jim Clinton (airs 7:30 am August 21, 2005). Bend Police Chief Andy Jordan will appear on August 28.
“We will be covering issues from all communities – from Prineville to Sisters, Madras to Bend,” said HBG News Director Paul Valle. “There are so many issues related to the rapid growth in our region from how we get to work each day to how we preserve our environment to how we keep our economy moving forward. “Inside Central Oregon” will be a venue to address many of these issues.”
Horizon Broadcasting Group stations offer local news broadcasts twice an hour Monday through Friday with Paul Valle from 5 am to 10 am on KQAK-FM, THE PEAK 104.1, LITE 95.1 and LAZER 96-5. Local newscasts appear on the hour on KRCO-AM from 6 am – 6 pm Monday through Friday. KRCO-AM also features 30-minute news blocks at noon and 5 pm Monday through Friday, and Paul Harvey News and Comment three times daily.
Horizon Broadcasting Group, LLC owns and operates five radio stations in Central Oregon. HBG’s stations in Central Oregon include KQAK-FM (105.7, Oldies), KWPK-FM (THE PEAK 104.1, Hot Adult Contemporary), KLTW-FM (LITE 95.1, Soft Adult Contemporary), KWLZ-FM (LAZER 96.5, Classic Rock) and KRCO-AM (690 khz, Classic Country).
