October 1999 Horizon Broadcasting Group co-founded by Seattle broadcasters William Ackerley, Keith Shipman and Dan Walker.
December 1999 HBG announces acquisition of KRCO-AM, KIJK-FM and KWEG-FM (Central Oregon) from High Desert Communications. HBG announces acquisition of KSRV-AM/FM from Journal Broadcast Group.
February 2000 Horizon Broadcasting Group announces acquisition of KQAK-FM Bend, OR from JJP Broadcasting, Inc. and begins operating station under a Local Marketing Agreement.
April 2000 Horizon Broadcasting Group begins operating KSRV-AM/FM Ontario, OR.
May 2000 Horizon Broadcasting Group begins operating KRCO-AM, KIJK-FM and KWEG-FM in Central Oregon.
August 2000 Horizon Broadcasting Group acquires Boise Hawks Baseball Club (Class A Northwest League minor league affiliate of Anaheim Angels).
KWEG drops satellite programming, adopts KWPK-FM calls and Hot Adult Contemporary format as THE PEAK 96.5.
KIJK calls dropped and country format re-launched as 95.1 KRCO-FM.
November 2000 Horizon Broadcasting Group acquires KTPZ-FM, KMXM-FM, KMHI-AM (Boise, ID) and KIKX-FM, KTFI-AM (Twin Falls, ID) from FM Idaho Co., LLC.
December 2000 Boise Hawks Baseball Club affiliates with Chicago Cubs.
KTPZ-FM Boise adopts 80's Oldies format (formerly CHR); KIJZ-FM Boise debuts NAC/Smooth Jazz format (formerly KMXM-FM/Country).
June 2001 Central Oregon business unit conducts three-station frequency swap, as KWPK-FM programming moves from 96.5 to become THE PEAK 104.1; KRCO-FM country programming moves from 95.1 to 96.5; KMJZ-FM debuts as NAC/Smooth Jazz at 95.1.
September 2001 Central Oregon stations consolidate at remodeled studio facility in Bend, Oregon.
Boise Hawks qualify for Northwest League Championship series in first year as Chicago Cubs affiliate.
July 2002 KRCO-FM calls dropped; KWLZ-FM Warm Springs/Bend, OR debuts with Active Rock format as LAZER 96.5.
September 2002 Boise Hawks win Northwest League Championship.
April 2003 Keith Shipman appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding William Ackerley, who resigned.
July 2003 Boise, ID and Twin Falls, ID radio stations sold to AGM-Idaho, LLC.
August 2003 KMJZ-FM Bend, OR evolves from NAC/Smooth Jazz to Soft Adult Contemporary format with KLTW-FM calls (Continuous Lite Favorites, LITE 95.1).
October 2003 HBG co-founder Dan Walker and a group of investors acquire the Boise Hawks Baseball Club from Horizon Broadcasting Group.
July 2004 Paul Harvey added to KRCO-AM Prineville, OR programming lineup.
September 2004 KSRV-AM/FM Ontario, OR sold to FM Idaho Co.,LLC
December 2004 KWLZ-FM Warm Springs/Bend, OR adopts Classic Rock format, as Continuous Classic Rock LAZER 96-5.
January 1, 2005 Horizon Broadcasting Group launches a Bend Centennial campaign, including the production and airing of historical vignettes across all four FM stations (KWPK-FM, KQAK-FM, KLTW-FM and KWLZ-FM), as "The Offical Radio Partner of the Bend Centennial".
February 1, 2005 KRCO-AM Prineville, OR celebrates 55th year of broadcasting.
August 24, 2006 KQAK-FM named Oregon Radio Station of the Year by the Oregon Association of Broadcasters
